IORNET is the web site of the Indian Ocean Rim Business Facilitation Centre (IORBFC) operated by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) with support from Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, to promote business to business linkages and cooperation among the IORARC member countries.

IORNET serves as the information focal point for the Indian Ocean Rim Association for Regional Cooperation (IORARC) comprising Australia, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Iran, Kenya, Madagascar, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mozambique, Oman, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Thailand, United Arab Emirates and Yemen. The information content and online information submission facilities are in the process of being expanded to include activities of the IOR Academic Group and the IOR related Intergovernmental forums.

Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the apex chamber in India, has been playing a catalytic role in the socio- economic development of the country since 1927. Backed by a nationwide network of regional, state, local and bi-national chambers, trade, industry and professional associations, corporate bodies and private firms, FICCI speaks directly and indirectly for over 1,00,000 business units small, medium and large enterprises.

Information contained in the website has been compiled and collated with the help of the National Focal Points in the IOR member countries. IORNET gratefully acknowlages the support extended by the various government organisations, chambers of commerce and industry associations in the IOR region.

Information about new member countries and dialogue partners is currently being compilied. IORNET invites National Focal Points in these countries to participate in the building of the relevant databases for respective countries.
