The Salalah Port Free Trade Zone

Ideally located to serve the Indian Ocean Rim, Salalah provides new opportunities in international trade. To turn the vision into reality, a joint venture company - Salalah Port Services was formed with Finnish shipping giant Maersk and the Government of Oman. Today this unique endeavour bears testimony to the contribution of public and private partnership to economic development in the Sultanate.
Encouraged by the port’s rapid growth, Salalah has been declared as a Free Trade Zone by the government. With this significant development, the port of Salalah’s position as one of the world’s six largest global transhipment hubs will be further enhanced.
